Thomas Austin

Bio

Coach Thomas Austin brings high-level experience and proven development to the Daniel High School football staff. He was a standout offensive lineman at Clemson University, earning All-ACC honors and serving as a team captain. After college, he played in the NFL with the Houston Texans, New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, and Indianapolis Colts. Austin began his coaching career at Clemson as a Graduate Assistant before moving to Georgia State as the Offensive Line Coach. At Georgia State, he helped produce one of the nation’s top rushing attacks and multiple all-conference linemen. He returned to Clemson in 2021 as an analyst and was promoted to Offensive Line Coach in 2022. During his time with the Tigers, he worked with several all-league performers and contributed to Clemson’s continued success. In 2025, Coach Austin joined Daniel High School to lead the offensive line. He emphasizes toughness, technique, and strong fundamentals in his coaching. Coach Austin is committed to developing young men on and off the field and raising the standard of play in the Lions’ program.
